What makes a person polished
Is it their wonderful wardrobes? For sure. Is it their international celebrity? Two questions spring to mind: WHY do women such as these choose to present themselves this way, and HOW do they do it? There is no better way to elevate above the masses than by paying attention to details and presenting yourself in a thoughtful and classy way. People respect and respond well to those that take this sort of care in their appearance because it takes discipline and practice.
These laws are essential skills of polished women through the ages, and they can be followed by anyone , no matter your budget, your age, or your status.
One of the first things people notice about us are our hands. Nonverbal cues such as stance, head movements, facial expressions, and gestures clarify your message. Actions: How you communicate, interact, and treat others In our modern world, how you treat others and your actions affect how people view you. Being thoughtful and thinking of others will never go out of style; these are timeless qualities. Having good manners will always be considered a desirable trait in a person. When you are kind and have good manners; treat others as you would like to be treated; and make others feel good about themselves they will want to be around you.
Studies show that women actually value kindness above looks as the most important quality for a man to have. Good shoes are a must types the chick sitting in her beachwear And what Mary said. From the job interview horror stories I've been reading, what they may be doing is using a positive word to rule out some of the big show-stoppers- flip-flops, gum-chewing, using "like" or "you know" between every word in the conversation, etc.
Being neat, clean, smiling and businesslike, and knowing how to communicate well will all go a long way. And wear something that makes you feel pretty. I'm 55 and realized about a year or so ago that I can't just buy something because it fits or throw on whatever comes out of the drawer as long as it doesn't clash with the other things I'm wearing. I'm not gorgeous and don't have a perfect body so I try to dress more carefully. If you don't trust your own taste here, ask a friend to go through your wardrobe with you and show you what pieces look good together and what looks best on you.
I agree, my reference was in how they carried themselves and spoke in public. I've seen women who looked nothing like them but carried themselves with the same type of class and refinement. Think of Bree from Desperate Housewives. I think that's a perfect example, but a little less robotic-ness.
I don't wear suits to work but I do wear nice slacks, a sweater set and nice, polished shoes. I make sure my purse fits my outfit I have three purses - red, black, brown. My nails are short, but polished. I just try and go over myself before I leave and make sure nothing is out of place. Always have simple, elegant earrings in small hoops, studs, etc. I know what designer looks good on me so I just inspect for pilling, buttons, etc.
