Which splinter cell should i get
The series was a huge success with six mainline titles and a PSP spin-off. Unfortunately, the last entry Splinter Cell: Blacklist underperformed in terms of sales on the Xbox , and the series was shelved without any sign of a new entry since It is possible that Ubisoft is waiting to tie-in a new entry with the planned movie adaption but there has been no confirmation from the studio.
Thankfully, Fisher hasn't left the minds of the developers at Ubisoft and he has shown up in a variety of games worth noting. Updated January 28th, by Michael Llewellyn: Even though it's not the news that longtime fans have been waiting for, Sam Fisher and the Splinter Cell the series is set to return on mobile devices sometime in the future.
However, in more interesting news, the Splinter Cell series seems set to make a return on VR systems and there's an animated Netflix series on its way. It's likely a way for Ubisoft to test the waters to see if there's a renewed interest in the series. However, if the recent success of Hitman 3 is anything to go by it shows fans are once again willing to dive into hardcore stealth games. In meantime, this list has been updated with some of Sam Fisher's most recent adventures to see how they stack up to the rest of the series.
Chronologically, the game takes place after Splinter Cell: Double Agent but the missions are flashbacks providing some back story for Sam Fisher. The flashback missions were interesting and Splinter Cell: Essentials would have benefited from a remaster on a more capable console. Blacklist, but it doesn't have cloud save.

Main thing to note is if you get them all, start with 1 and dont touch the others until youre finished with 1. The later entries will spoil you and make the original feel very heavy and outdated, thats not to say its a bad game because its really good but all the new toys you get later in the series make life a lot easier and create a different dynamic in general on how you interact with and handle the environment and the puzzles and problems that come up during stealth gameplay.
Originally posted by Saboteur :. Chaos Theory is the Reason why Blacklist was talked about and planned so well in the first place, so i would definitely try that game out, and even play Spies Vs.
Mercs on LAN you will likely need some fixes for Mutliplayer, for torchlight flashligth and some other tweaks for resolution. However, if you do play it, you will realize that 5th freedom on some missions means more trust in the JBA, and it eventually leads to bigger decisions that are basically no-brainers, in the end Fans should play the first Splinter Cell game, but not new players. In terms of Splinter Cell games beloved by the hardcore fans, Pandora Tomorrow is often the underrated pick for best in the series.
It's certainly not as mainstream as Chaos Theory was, but a lot of the narrative and mechanical improvements of the series began with Pandora Tomorrow in Design-wise, Pandora Tomorrow was sort of the development bridge between the first game and Chaos Theory. Several quality-of-life changes improved the gameplay mechanics, and it was clear Pandora Tomorrow was a glimpse into what would become one of the most widely-praised games in the whole series. Unfortunately, this is the most difficult legacy Splinter Cell game to play , mostly because it's not sold on any modern platforms.
Plenty of threads on Ubisoft's forums, as well as Reddit, involve fans asking for a digital re-release of Pandora Tomorrow. Ubisoft's existing Splinter Cell Collection still omits Pandora Tomorrow , and likely will for the forseeable future, which is a shame. Which leads to Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory , which is generally the prime example most fans will point to as the best Splinter Cell game in the entire franchise.
Understandably so, Chaos Theory was the peak of Sam Fisher's stealth action : The story is a top-notch international espionage thriller that ramps up in intensity as Fisher's mission becomes progressively more precarious.
Chaos Theory 's mission design is equally top-notch, as the game offers some of the best stealth sandboxes that properly challenges players' stealth abilities and gadget usage sufficiently. Additionally, Chaos Thoery is where the iconic wit of Sam Fisher's personality shines brightest. It's clear Ubisoft learned a lot from the past two Splinter Cell games in the series, as Chaos Theory is not nearly as punishing to play as past games.
